Police recover 864 ammunition at accident scene

The Bauchi State Police Command at the weekend recovered 864 live ammunition at the scene of an accident along the Bauchi-Jos highway. It was gathered that two people died in the crash.

In a statement, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed said: "On the 22/8/2015, at about 20:45hrs, there was a fatal motor accident at Nabordo area, along Bauchi-Jos road involving a white Toyota Counter with registration number FS 276 LND driven by one Mamuda Lawal and a Red Sharon vehicle with registration number XA 913 MAG, driven by a yet to be identified person from Borno State".

 Mohammed said the accident occurred when the two vehicles coming from opposite directions collided. He said police patrol team attached to Toro Division visited the scene and rushed the victims to the General Hospital Toro for medical attention. He added that the two drivers were confirmed dead by a medical doctor while three other persons who sustained various degrees of injuries are responding to treatment.
