NSCDC Rescues 80 Pregnant Girls From Child Traffickers

As incidents of child trafficking continue to rage in Abia State, the state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps said it recently rescued over 80 pregnant girls from child traffickers in the state.
Disclosing this at Umuahia during a courtesy call on the Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, the new commandant of the NSCDC, Abia State command, Dr Benito Eze, said they would not relent until the illegal and inhuman trade was stamped out from the state.
It could be recalled that a particular woman who uses her maternity as “baby factory” where pregnant teenagers are kept till they were delivered of their babies, who are allegedly either given out on illegal adoption or out right sale ,have had her maternity raided and the girls rescued.
But the public is said to be worried that the same woman who had been variously said to have escaped arrest soon returns to her base and carries out her illegal trade only to be raided again   and her victims rescued and she escaped as usual.
