Tragedy struck Sunday afternoon in Ilorin as three persons inside a car were crushed to death by a moving train.

Vanguard reliably gathered that the victims, two young men and a lady, were inside a Toyota Camry car with allfour windows wound up when they were crushed by the moving train said to be coming from the north to Offa.

FG probes Aero’s use of ladder to disembark passengers

 

The Minister of State for  Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika yesterday directed an immediate investigation into the use of ladder by Aero Contractors Airlines to disembark passengers on its chartered flight at the Bauchi Airport on Saturday.

This was disclosed yesterday by Mr James Odaudu, Deputy Director, Press and Public Affairs of the Ministry.

According to him; “Several reports received by the Minister have indicated the airline used a ladder to disembark passengers from a Boeing 737 aircraft at the Bauchi airport on Saturday December 19th 2015.

Reps may summon Okonjo-Iweala over N1.17bn grant

The House of Representatives is seeking detailed information on how the N1.17bn approved by former President Goodluck Jonathan for the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority was reversed by a ministerial directive last May.

It was learnt that the House may summon the immediate past Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, for allegedly reversing Jonathan’s approval in controversial circumstances, thereby denying the agency of the funds.

MTN sues NCC over $3.9bn fine

Telecommunications company, MTN Nigeria Limited, has gone before a Federal High Court in Lagos to challenge the $3.9bn imposed on it by the Nigeria Communications Commission for failure to disconnect its unregistered subscribers.

The company, which filed the suit through its legal team comprising Chief Wole Olanipekun, Tanimola Molajo, A.B. Mahmoud, Dr. Gbolahan Elias, Oladipo Okpeseyi, Prof. Fabian Ajogwu and Dr. Oladapo Olanipekun, all Senior Advocates of Nigeria, is urging the court to quash the $3.9bn imposed on it.
