Rep urges Buhari to intervene in N’Assembly crisis

The lawmaker representing Ojo federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Obasa, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly intervene in the leadership crisis rocking the National Assembly before things get out of hand.

Obasa, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, said this in a statement on Sunday.

“I plead with the President to intervene in the lingering crisis since he is the father of the nation and he has said repeatedly that he is ready to work with everyone,” the lawmaker said.

He also called on his All Progressives Congress counterparts in the lower chamber to stop overheating the polity and start thinking on how to make laws that would better the lives of the electorate.
Obasa, however, pledged his loyalty to the Speaker of the House, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, and assured Nigerians that Dogara’s tenure would be beneficial to all.
He said, “I’m not against party supremacy in decision making but all of us in the hallowed chamber should remember we are representing the interest of our constituents.”
