A man killed his
girlfriend when he crashed while having sex at the wheel, a court has
heard. Minesh
Parbat, 36, is accused of killing Lisa Watling, 28, as she straddled him during
a journey after a night out.
Lewes
Crown Court heard that he lost control of his BMW Z3, hitting the central
reservation. Lisa was thrown from the car.
A
witness said they found him with his trousers and belt round his ankles and
‘backside on show’ while Lisa was also half naked.
The
crash happened in Crawley, West Sussex, in the early hours of March 9 last
year.
He
denies death by dangerous driving and having sex with her at the wheel.
Prosecutor Philip
Meredith said: ‘He said on the return journey Miss Watling said she was feeling
horny and started doing things she shouldn’t have been.
‘He
said she put her bottom on the dashboard and went to climb across him but
stressed while he didn’t have a full view of the road that he was in control.
‘He
told police that he did not view her behaviour as being sexual in any way and
that he did not engage with her.
‘When
he was then asked to provide an account for why his trousers were down he was
unable to do so.’
Witness
Wendy Mordecai told the jury: ‘I saw a man lying with his head hanging
over the kerb and the rest of his body on the grass.
His trousers, which had a
belt, and his pants were both round his ankles and his backside was on show.
‘I
was really shocked and stood back thinking “what has happened here?”.’
Mrs
Mordecai went to call for an ambulance when she saw Lisa lying half-naked in
the road.
She
added: ‘She had a T-shirt and bra on that were twisted around her shoulders and
neck. I adjusted it to cover her up.
‘She
was lying face down and the rest of her body was visible. From her chest down
she was naked.’
He
was found to have 102 milligrams of alcohol per 100 ml of blood – the limit is
80.
The
trial continues.See photos from the scene below:
